Terms of Use
These terms cover this assessment tool only. HID Global's Terms of Use govern hidglobal.com and continue to apply. This page adds the terms specific to this tool. Where the two differ about this tool, this page is the one that applies.
1. Accepting these terms
By using the HID Mobile Access Readiness Assessment (the "tool") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. The tool is operated for HID Global Corporation by Right on the Line Limited (registered in England and Wales, company no. 04044730).
The tool is intended for people acting for an organisation, not for consumers acting in a personal capacity.
2. The assessment is not a security audit
This is the most important term on this page.
The tool asks nine questions and produces an indicative score. It is an educational and informational aid designed to help you think about access management. It is not a security audit, a risk assessment, a safeguarding assessment, a penetration test, an inspection, a certification, or professional advice of any kind.
A good score does not mean your buildings are secure. A poor score does not mean they are not. The tool cannot see your premises, your policies, your people or your actual systems.
Do not use the output as the basis for a safeguarding decision, a physical security decision, a decision about protecting children or vulnerable people, an insurance declaration, or a statement of regulatory compliance. Those decisions need a qualified professional who has assessed your specific circumstances.
3. AI-generated content
The written summary, rationale and recommended actions in your results are generated by an AI language model from the answers you gave. AI-generated text can be inaccurate, incomplete, or confidently wrong. Please read it as a prompt for discussion rather than as a finding of fact, and check anything you intend to act on.
The recommended product tier is produced by a fixed calculation from your answers. It is a starting point for a conversation with HID, not a specification, a quotation, or an offer.
4. Your results link is shareable, not secret
Your results page has a randomly generated address so that it cannot be found by guessing and is not indexed by search engines. It is not password-protected. Anyone you send the link to — and anyone they forward it to — can open it and see your first name, your organisation name and your answers.
That is deliberate: the link exists so you can share your results with your leadership team. Please treat it as a shared document rather than a confidential record, and do not rely on it as an access control. The link stops working 24 months after you complete the assessment.
5. Information you give us
You agree that the information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you are authorised by your organisation to submit it and to be contacted about it. Please do not submit anyone else's personal information, and do not enter any information about a child.
We also measure how the assessment is used — how far visits get, which questions are answered, which question people abandon — so we can improve it. This measurement stores nothing on your device and never records your IP address. Section 2 of the Privacy Notice explains exactly what it does, and how to switch it off.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit automated, bulk or deliberately false entries
- scrape, crawl or harvest the tool, its API or its results pages
- attempt to guess, enumerate or brute-force results identifiers, or access results that are not yours
- probe, scan or test the security of the tool, or interfere with its normal operation
- attempt to access, guess the password for, or brute-force the administrative area, or submit fabricated measurement data to it
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the scoring logic
- use the tool to build a competing product, or to train a machine learning model
- use it for anything unlawful, or in breach of any applicable export control or sanctions law
We may restrict or withdraw access if the tool is used in any of these ways.
7. Intellectual property
The tool, its content, design, scoring methodology, text, graphics, logos and trade marks (including HID, HID Global, HID Mobile Access and HID Origo) are owned by HID Global Corporation or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the tool and to use your own results internally within your organisation.
You may share your own results page and print or circulate it inside your organisation. You may not republish, sell, or commercially exploit the tool or its content, present it as your own work, or frame it within another site, without HID's written consent.
8. Availability
The tool is provided free of charge and we may change, suspend or withdraw it at any time without notice. We do not guarantee it will be available uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the tool and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the results are accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither HID Global Corporation nor Right on the Line Limited will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of the tool or your reliance on its output.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep all of your statutory rights and nothing here affects them.
11. Third-party links
The tool links to other websites, including hidglobal.com. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Notice and Cookie Notice explain what we do with your information. They form part of these terms.
13. Changes and termination
We may update these terms. The version number and date at the top of this page will change, and continued use after that means you accept the updated terms. We may terminate or restrict your access at any time if you breach these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules, consistent with HID Global's corporate Terms of Use. The courts of Texas will have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, the European Union or South Africa, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right.
